Wearing that sweet smile
of eagerness
arms sprawling with the wind,
eyes growing fonder
in dialogue with the clouds.


Still pacing forwards,
his feet drumming
a dark molten board of black
beats of dashed white lines of chalk
The drawing of a
wide diver’s board
Stretching…
Under a blue pool of sky
His city at its edge, as if lifting;


The way an infant
is carried


released


and launched,
